Madden Ultimate Team was a new game mode added to Madden NFL 10 through a patch on PS3 and free Downloadable Content on Xbox 360. It was released January 2010, Madden Ultimate Team was a unique mode that allowed the user to purchase virtual playing cards, which they assembled into a team. You would take your team and play them against other players online or against the CPU in order to earn coins in order to purchase more cards. I was the Development Director for this project responsible for making sure the game shipped on time. I was the direct-line manager to 15 programmers and 2 artists for this project which went from September to January when we shipped. When I came on board, the project was severely over-scoped and I worked with the lead designer to make sure the core of the game was intact and then start working with the lead programmers assigned to the project in order to execute and get it done on a very shorted time frame.
